This is just a spot where Chuck Knapp wants to pass along what he thinks are good experiences.
Now that the internet is "free" to everyone. You should make use of the internet. Not just for emails but cameras that monitor your condo, water sensors that will alert that you have a water leak where ever you are in the US, camera doorbells, etc.
A month ago I installed a smart thermostat when I replaced my A/C. I love it. It works with a phone app. It senses when I am over 3 miles away and raises the target temp by 3 degrees. It senses when I return to within 3 miles and goes back to my normal setting. If I wake up too cold or too hot in the middle of the night, I say "Alexa lower (or raise) my Condo thermostat by x degrees." It reads how the phone app shows the inside humidity. AND if I travel and the a/c stops, I see it and am notified. Cost about $100 but if you buy it when you replace your A/C you can get a $30 deduction from A/C supplier (not using the A/C supplier's thermo) and they should be happy to install it at no charge.
